Speed Bumps

By satriakid

Anyone hate the newly made speed bumps? Apparently so. Seems lots of the new Datsun (Nissan) Fairlady 350Z are missing, as well as Evos and all those uberly lowered cars are missing from the Uni’s carpark.

I hate it. With standard suspension for my car, the undercarriage still hits the speed bump.  And that is only me in my car, which barely have anything extra (aside from the fuel and my bag with books). And the management said that the speed bumps are road standard. What road standard? Heck. If it was of road standard, no one will leave scrap marks on the asphalt. Pfft. Probably because the contractors are driving huge fuel guzzeling 4×4, they never get any problems.

Now I really wonder if the “klunks” and metal grinding sound will be here to stay or the management will do something about it.

  2. HALLELUJAH!! I AGREE!!!! Nowadays u wont see ANY hot mod cars parking anywhere… Why need they put those miserable annoying bumps anyway?!?!

Even if you need to, AT LEAST MAKE A LOWER BUMP LA!! Take Spring basement carpark for example.. They have numerous bumps.. They control the speed of the motorists. BUT, the main difference of Uber-HIGH Swinburne bumps and Spring bumps are, the height and width. Those 1-foot wide by how many inch high bumps are more than enough to slow any wise crack trying to speed.. (If he cares for his suspension)

Since its too late to make those bumps smaller, try WIDENING the width.. Few bumps along Manna although is high, they’re designed to be wide. Those contractors were VERY CONSIDERATE of people who ADORES low cars.

No bumps, NO BUMPS, has ever scratched my car’s under carriage until I met Swinburne bumps..

Mind my language, but ‘ROAD STANDARD BUMPS’ my foot!!

Yeah.. Hummer anyone? I would love to drive that… or maybe a hardcore Bulldozer? With the scoop down to ground zero so that i can help them other low-riders remove those annoying bumps?

  5. Not a problem for me because I’m driving a 4-wheeler. But I do agree with you guys, obviously the bump is not road standard at all, it’s too high too big.

I won’t even bothered to hit the brake if the bump is road standard.

Hummer? There is one in Kuching. I’ve seen it on the road. No idea who’s though.

Not me. I have to really slow down as I’m driving a sports car. My only mean of transportation, and its already sporty low from factory.

I’m thinking we should do a petition and submit it to the management. Wonder if it would work. I remembered few years back we did a petition for something which I forgot what was it for.

  8. Ya… It’s true that the speed bumps in Swinburne are too “high”. I don’t think they are standard height for the bumps in Swinburne. I can see other roads have lower bumps than Swinburne. By the way, I can see many scratches at the top part of the bumps. Check it out if you pass by the bump located on the way from Block A to Carpark building. =)

Even though my Vios is “high” enough, I still always scare of my car being scratches by the bumps… Really hope admit would do something about it… =.=ll

  9. with the high bump, all vehicle will slow down to pass throght “safely”. how if when in raining days where the traffic is busy, slow car, jam traffic, then~~end up with stuck……….
