Say Nice-Nice Woh~
As being discussed in the first gathering several days ago, there are some form of policies or rules that has to be established on SwinTalk, so that everyone, including members and common readers can really enjoy the fun on SwinTalk.
Nothing new actually, these are common rules you can find on all forums actually.
This blog DOES NOT belong to Swinburne University of Technology (Sarawak Campus), nor does it represent the university in any way. Any posting on this blog belong solely to the contributor, and DOES NOT represent the university.
Your responsibilities as a blogger on SwinTalk:
- You will not post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person’s privacy, or otherwise in violation of any law.
- You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages.
Your postings on SwinTalk:
1. Languages used: We welcome postings in languages other than English, for example Mandarin, Malay, Indonesian, and others to create a much more diversified blogging community. Wordpress can support these languages anyway.
And oh yeah, that include Manglish (Malaysian English) and MSN short forms as well, ^^; BUT make sure the postings are decent and readable.
Action to be taken: Put in a line like “This will be a Malay posting”, or “This posting will be in Mandarin” in English as the very first line of your non-English posting, so that readers will understand beforehand.
2. Postings: Trolling/flaming postings are not allowed. Do not post anything that are inflammatory just to upset people.
Action to be taken: Posting deleted. Perpetrator will be warned.
3. Postings: Spamming is not allowed. Copy and paste/non constructive materials are boring, so why bother anyway?
* There shouldn’t be any problem if you’re posting your own writings and ideas. If you’re unsure that you’ll might end up repeating, do read through the other postings on the blog first.
Action to be taken: Posting deleted.
4. Postings: Political propaganda or religious hatred is strictly prohibited on SwinTalk.
Action to be taken: Posting deleted. Perpetrator will be warned.
5. Postings: Profanities or vulgarities, i.e. offensive or foul language is strictly prohibited (hence the title of this posting ^^)
Action to be taken: Posting deleted. Perpetrator will be warned.
6. Acknowledgment of external images or links: Not an issue if the picture is taken by you yourself, but do include a link to the external image you used in your posting (if there’s a need for that in the first place).
So far these are the rules and policies I can think of for the blog, but I’m sure folks will be able to think of other issues that may arise. Do leave questions or opinion in the comment section, so that the Moderator can edit or append the list from the feedback.
Also, keep in mind that the blog belongs to all members, so if you find that certain postings are breaking the rules, do let the moderator know. But I’m sure all members realize their roles and responsibilities on this blog, and everyone can talk real nice here ^^

Serious cat. He can be found on most forum threads that require seriousness from the users - suits this topic very well. ^^
This particular one is from ARS Technica Open Forum.
Remember, these rules are NOT to restrict your freedom as a member. Don’t be afraid of them, but please don’t tell me things like “rules are meant to be broken”, which is probably from some movies you watched. ^^;
Do write up as much and as freely as you like on this blog, but please keep in mind the rules mentioned here.
