Swinburne Grand Opening Coverage (Partial)
Well, since no one posted it up, I’ll do the honour of partial coverage of the opening events as I had to run off halfway during the opening to help out my fellow mates and also had something else to do.
Anyway, on with the pictures. Enjoy.

Red Carpet. Anyone strided on it before our CM step on it? I know I did.
While everyone was intense with the arrival of the Chief Minister of Sarawak, I caught a few shots of the things around me.

Busy preparing for the Opening.

Hrm, who’s this….

Lovely shot.

Frontal view of the entrance to MPH (Multi-Purpose Hall mind you). Even the rain drops were frozen in time.
Minutes passed and when we heard the blaring of the sirens on those big Honda police bikes, everyone had a final check on everything, including their attirewear and cameramens and womens where checking their equipment to get the perfect shot.

The arrival of the CM of Sarawak.
This were multiple shots, and what happened after he got out, he stroded so fast, the next picture will tell you the rest of the story.

CM being welcomed by the Vice-Chancellor and also other members of Swinburne Management and more.
See how fast he walks! Health guy ain’t he.
While he was being welcomed and so forth, I ran in front of his car and did this.

Hey, Johnson, I have close-ups. XD. Beats your fingerprint eh.
Everyone was busy taking pictures of the CM, and people say I’m nuts taking shots of his car instead *haha*. Gosh, lovely flying silver lady.
After he enters the MPH, everyone gathered inside and enjoyed the show cultural dance performed by Sarawak Cultural Village, while many more students came in to get a glimps of what was happening.

Committee? Seems the center stage area have been divided into different categories.
After that, I disappear to help my friends to get ready for their performance part, so the coverage after the cultural dance was missed, hence, a big gap but I heard many said the CM gave a long talk. XD. Honestly, I have no idea. I heard this from others only.
Later that afternoon, someone called and told us we were late for our performance so we all packed up and rushed to the event at the courtyard. When we were there, the Dancesports Club was doing their performance.
I’ll let the pictures take over again.

Dance move full of energy.

Is he psychic or something? ESP maybe?
After that, 3 girls, or should I say ladies in yukata went up to the stage and did their performance.

Emotions at play.

Singing with passion.

Singer trio.
They song they sung was in japanese called “Mirai” which means future. Forgot by who though.

Side shots while posing for a cameraman.
While the performance was still going on, others were busying themselves with free food which was provided.

Fellow Admins and Admins.

Boy, this guy can surely sing without any background song. Kudos to your performance bro.
Anyway, it ends here as I packed up and headed over to another place where there was another event going on. Hope you enjoyed the photos that I have shared here.

Awesome photos!
LOL dude…
Yea, you took a closer snapshot at that Silver Lady Statue. You beat me in this, still at least i “touched” his car.. haha!
Nonetheless, your pictures’ high resolutions have really impressed me tremendously. I should say, great mixtures of colors. What cam are you using?
I’m using a Nikon D80 with 18mm – 135mm lens.
Anyway, I left a mark earlier than you Johnson. While taking the picture of the Flying Lady, i lost my balance and touched the front grill for support. Wonder if its still there. XD
@saad=Thanks.
Very nice pictures indeed! The wonders of a dSLR. =D
I especially like that shot of the girl and her mum!
No wonder..its a DSLR cam
Thanks guys. Not all the pics are from the dSLR.
I still owe alot to my dedicated PNS camera, Sony DSC-W1.

the only picture i liked is the fourth one. The rest are just sharp, colouring doesn’t seem right somehow. :/ PnS sucks in a way, the battary runs out too fast. D:
